Basket Case New England DIPA

A New England Double IPA starring Galaxy hops. This is a bold and vibrant beer that showcases the intense tropical and citrus flavour characteristic of both the style and the hop variety. Hazy appearance, luscious mouthfeel, and explosive aroma.  

In appearance, this Double IPA pours with a cloudy, golden-orange hue, resembling freshly squeezed fruit juice. The haze comes from the generous use of wheat and oats that contribute to its smooth, velvety texture. The aroma of the Galaxy hops immediately envelops your senses with a burst of tropical fruitiness. You'll detect prominent notes of passion fruit, pineapple, mango, and citrus, creating an enticing and aromatic experience. 

 Ian’s take

Think we’re getting pretty good at these… and this one has Galaxy as the star.  Some bittering and mash hopping with cascade to help bring out the thiols (extra juicy). 

Citra compliments the galaxy, but for me, it’s like juicy fruit gum.  Loads of citrus, peach, ripe papaya with passionfruit aromatics. 

Label is of course of Green Day.  Song being basket case, they were in straight jackets for the vid, so went with this look.  I’m pretty happy with this one.
